GSA Career Day was a Big Success
Gateway Science Academy held its first Career Day on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
Twenty-one guest speakers represented a wide range of careers, including dentists and nurses, attorneys, entrepreneurs, engineers, photographers, police officers ,firefighters, graphic designers, recruiters, educators, real estate agents, and scientists. Guest speakers also enjoyed watching Stem Expo students presenting their demonstrations before the career sessions.
Every middle and high school students had an opportunity to hear three career speakers based on their interests.
The half-day event was beneficial for students of all types. For those still uncertain of what they want to do after high school graduation, the presentations gave them an idea of the salary expectations, day-to-day routines and positive and negative points to several different careers. For those with their mind already made up, guest speakers provided guidance on the best educational programs and activities to make their dreams come true.
