Dr. Seuss Week and Read Across America

Last week the elementary school celebrated Dr. Seuss Week and Read Across America.  The celebration ended on Thursday, February 28th with students and teachers dressing like their favorite book characters and the GSA Men’s Club donated cupcakes to celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America. We had a school-wide door decorating competition, each class decorated their door with a Dr. Seuss theme.  Ms. Bryant’s class won the competition and received a Dr. Seuss Ice Cream party sponsored by local Target Volunteers.  We also had a reading competition between 1st- 2nd graders and 3rd-5th graders.  Mr. Jones’ class read 306 books and Ms. Lich’s class read 93 books.  Each class will receive a party for their accomplishments on March 15th.  Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the week a success.  We had some much fun!!!!!
