March 22nd, 2013, four of our Middle School students competed in the Concept Schools Regional Spelling Bee in down town Chicago and we walked away victorious. Kathryn Brune, Jake Minor, Sequoia Maybearry, and Hayden Barton had the best overall average for spelling than any other Concept middle school, so we’re bringing back this lovely piece of hardware to display in our lobby.
What perhaps is even more impressive is that Hayden Barton won THE ENTIRE THING. First Place! He was unstoppable. He won his own trophy and $100.
Sequoia Maybearry also had an impressive run and finished in the top 16!
