LinFest 2011

The Third and Fourth Grade Music Classes and the 5 & 6 Grade Choirs performed for the Lindenwood Park fall festival called, “LinFest 2011″ on Saturday, October 1, 2011.  The 5 & 6 Grade Combined Choir began the festivities with the singing of the National Anthem. They also sang “This is a Celebration,” “Light the Candles,””Every Autumn,” “Goober Peas,” (a song from the Civil War,) and “All-American.”   The Third and Fourth Grader performed “I’m so Glad to Be Here” and “This Land is Your Land,” and “Hey Jack,” all three with dance motions.  They also performed three songs with percussion accompaniment, “Whomp,” “Aiken Drum,” and “When Johnny Comes Marching Home.” The students sang “We will not forget” and dedicated the performance to our nations Veterans. Other songs included “The Cat Came Back” and “We Rock.”  The enthusiastic crowd comprised of family and friends were receptive and appreciative of the students’ efforts.  Linfest is a celebration of the Lindenwood Park Association featuring kid’s activities, live music, local restaurants and neighborhood businesses and resources.
