Dear Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2015-16 School Year. We expect great things to happen this year. We have welcomed new staff members this year and have made a few changes. Check our SIS system http://grades.ms.gsastl.org/ to be able to contact any of our employees. Here are some of our additions/changes.
Changes in Administrative Team:
Mr. Mustafa Icel joined our team January, 2015, as Dean of Academics for our High School. You should direct your High School academic questions or concerns to him at icel@gsastl.org .
Mr. Dennis Hall is focusing his role as Dean of Academics for our Middle School on 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classrooms. He may be contacted at dhall@gsastl.org
Dr. Brian Schick has joined our team as the Dean of Students. He is retired from Francis-Howell school district and has brought a lot of experience and ideas with him to address student discipline and enhance an environment of learning here at GSA Fyler. He may be contacted at bschick@gsastl.org
Changes in Support Team:
Mr. Taner Budiyar has joined us from CS Peoria school to work with High School students whose last names begin with L-Z as their College Counselor, Mrs. Nazife Aktas continues to work with High School students whose last names begin with A-K; they can be reached at college@gsastl.org
We have increased out secretarial staff by one. Lori (Cavins) Law is now officially assigned to our main office and will be working with Katarina Sedlacek; they can be reached at officefyler@gsastl.org .
We now have two rotating nurses on staff. Nurse Michelle has been joined by Nurse Wittels, they are available to us from 8:30-2:30 daily, they can be reached at nursefyler@gsastl.org
Our technology department has expanded to include Mr. Zokirjon (Zack) Mirzoev, he helps us keep our technology going and he is getting or Robotics and Lego teams going for us this year. He can be reached at zack@gsastl.org . Our new technology includes the addition of Chromebooks and Smartboards. We are continuing to use web based programs such as IXL Math and ELA for our 6th through 9th Graders and AR for our 6th Graders.
We have a new school counselor tis year, Kacey Selliers. She can be reached at counselorfyler@gsastl.org.
