On Thursday, January 31st, 2013, Mrs. Jones’ service learning club from the middle/high school went to the elementary school to volunteer in the kindergarten classes. The club members came up with creative games to help the kindergartners learn their sight words. They made three games: sight word twister, sight word egg hunt and sight word balloon toss. The kindergartners had a lot of fun playing the educational games. The group led the activities in Mrs. Cates and Ms. Wolf’s classes. This will be a monthly activity for the service learning club, and next time they will visit Ms. Williams and Ms. Murphy’s classes.
